Bradley Insurance Solutions aims for our website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, cognitive, motor, and speech impairments.
WCAG 2.1 Level AA is currently the recognized standard for web accessibility compliance under:
We also consider the developing WCAG 2.2 guidance in our ongoing improvements, as the standard is continuously evolving.
We have implemented the following accessibility features and practices across our website:
A "Skip to main content" link appears at the top of every page for keyboard and screen reader users to bypass repetitive navigation.
Pages use proper heading hierarchy (h1โh4), landmark regions (nav, main, footer), and semantic elements to support assistive technology navigation.
Interactive elements including navigation menus, tab panels, accordions, and form controls include ARIA labels, roles, and expanded/selected state attributes.
All interactive elements โ navigation, forms, accordions, tabs, and buttons โ are reachable and operable by keyboard alone without requiring a mouse.
Visible focus rings appear on all interactive elements when navigating by keyboard, using our brand gold color (#fbbf24) for high contrast.
Text and interactive elements are designed with contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA requirements (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text).
All interactive elements have a minimum touch target size of 44ร44px as recommended by WCAG 2.5.5 and Apple/Google accessibility guidelines.
Meaningful images and icons include descriptive alt text. Decorative images use empty alt="" attributes to be ignored by screen readers.
The site responds to viewport size and zoom levels, maintaining readability and functionality when text is scaled to 200% without horizontal scrolling.
Animated elements (sparkle cursor effects) are restricted to pointer/hover devices only and do not include rapid flashing that could trigger photosensitive conditions.
All form fields have associated visible labels. Required fields are marked. Error messages are descriptive. Forms can be completed by keyboard alone.
All pages declare lang="en" in the HTML element, enabling screen readers to use the correct language settings.
Our website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the standard. We are actively working to address identified gaps. Below is our current status by WCAG principle:
| Principle | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Perceivable โ Content must be presentable in ways users can perceive | Mostly Conformant | Text alternatives present on most elements; some complex SVG graphics may lack full alt descriptions. Color is not used as the sole means of conveying information. |
| Operable โ Interface components must be operable | Largely Conformant | All functions reachable via keyboard. Focus indicators present. No keyboard traps. No time limits on form submission. Skip navigation implemented. |
| Understandable โ Information and operation must be understandable | Largely Conformant | Language declared. Navigation consistent. Error identification and description present in forms. Plain language used throughout. |
| Robust โ Content must be interpretable by assistive technologies | Partially Conformant | ARIA implemented on key interactive elements. Third-party embedded components (Quote & Apply widget on Life page) may have their own conformance limitations we do not control. |
Despite our efforts, we are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:
aria-hidden="true" and may not be fully described for screen reader users in all contexts. We are working to ensure all meaningful visual content has text alternatives. Our website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
prefers-reduced-motion media query support across all pages for users who have enabled reduced motion in their OS settings. We test our pages primarily with VoiceOver on macOS/iOS and keyboard-only navigation. We are not able to guarantee compatibility with all assistive technology combinations, and we welcome feedback if you encounter issues with specific tools.
